The public portion of the Northwest Missouri State University Foundation's Forever Green campaign was launched last week during a special celebration on the Northwest campus.

The campaign's goal is to raise 45 million dollars for initiatives at the University centered on academic excellence, scholarships, student life and other donor-directed gifts.

The quiet phase of the campaign began in 2014 and culminated with the announcement that nearly 43 million dollars has been raised.

Vice-President of the Northwest Foundation Board, Bob Burrell, says a lot of hard work has gone into the campaign.

"We had an incredibly motivated group, at that time, of 36 board members and very, very talented development staff that have worked hand-in-hand over the last 5 years to be where we are today."

Burrell says the Foundation Board is confident they will meet their goal of 45 million dollars in the next one to two years.
